Zach Jacobs is a trial lawyer who represents clients in high-stakes patent litigation cases across a wide range of industries and technologies, including data mining, artificial intelligence, computer vision, medical devices, and consumer products.
Known for his strategic thinking and calm under pressure, Zach is deeply engaged in all phases of the litigation process. He has drafted motions, taken depositions, and briefed appeals. He is particularly skilled at distilling complex technical disputes down to their core—without losing sight of the big picture.
Before joining the firm, Zach practiced at both a boutique intellectual property firm and a full-service national law firm. He also served as a law clerk for the Honorable Kathryn C. Davis at the U.S. Court of Federal Claims, where he helped resolve complex cases against the federal government involving patent infringement, bid protests, takings claims, tax controversies, military pay claims, and tribal claims.
Zach graduated from Berkeley Law, where he was an editor of the Berkeley Technology Law Journal and a finalist in a national moot court competition. Zach also externed for the Honorable Amos Mazzant, III, in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, and interned for the Honorable Mark A. Kearney, in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
Zach completed his undergraduate degree at Temple University, where he graduated from the Honors Program. His thesis focused on disease prevention through water quality improvements. He conducted laboratory experiments using silver nanoparticles for point-of-use water purification. His findings were published in national research journals and presented at national conferences.
Zach is passionate about pro bono work. He has represented unaccompanied minors in immigration proceedings, which involved conducting multiple direct examinations in court, and has worked to protect individuals from domestic violence and to end cruelty to farm animals.
