pro bono
Reichman Jorgensen Lehman & Feldberg is deeply committed to public interest litigation. We understand that our privilege of being trial lawyers naturally involves representing those in need, whether it’s high-profile impact litigation or a person who will be evicted from an apartment. We also collaborate and work side-by-side with our clients to develop targeted pro bono and community service programs. Our pro bono activities include handling cases involving civil rights, immigration, prison abuse, indigent defense, homelessness, and veterans’ issues, among others.
Highlights of the team’s recent pro bono victories include:
Justice Delivered to June & Angie Provost
Featured in The New York Times’ award-winning “1619” podcast series, June and Angie Provost are co-owners of Provost Farm, an agriculture operation and activism hub founded to preserve the ancestral legacies of South Louisiana’s Black and Brown farmers. The RJLF team successfully resolved a years-long dispute between June and Angie Provost and a local sugar mill.
Trial Win Exonerating Innocent Man of Murder
RJLF, led by Laura Carwile, helped to secure an acquittal for a pro bono client, an Arkansas man falsely accused of murdering the two-year-old daughter of his girlfriend in 2019. The verdict in State v. Jordan Shreeve was announced on June 28, 2021, following a five-day jury trial before the Crawford County Circuit Court. The jury returned a verdict after less than two hours of deliberation, finding the defendant not guilty of both first- and second-degree murder.
