Jaime Cardenas-Navia Recognized as a Rising Star of the Plaintiffs Bar by The National Law Journal
Partner Jaime Cardenas-Navia was named among The National Law Journal’s Rising Stars of the Plaintiffs Bar, part of the publication’s 2023 Elite Trial Lawyers Awards. The honor showcases up-and-coming lawyers in the plaintiffs bar who demonstrate their litigation prowess, service to the community, and impact on their firm.
Jaime is a trial attorney with extensive experience in patent infringement disputes. He has litigated multiple cases through trial with a relentless focus on developing the theories and evidence that will persuade juries and win cases. Jaime has worked on matters involving a broad range of technologies, including video streaming, cloud computing, solar panels, nutritional formulations, and the manufacture and design of smartphones, tablets, cameras, printers, and scanners.
Most recently, Jaime successfully navigated two plaintiff-side patent infringement litigations from discovery until trial. Examining multiple key witnesses, Jaime helped the team secure a $15 million patent infringement verdict on behalf of Droplets, Inc. against tech giant Yahoo, following a three-week jury trial in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California. Jaime is also leading a series of patent infringement cases for VideoLabs, Inc. in courts across the country, enforcing a portfolio of patents that covers foundational video technologies in bet-the-company litigation. One of the cases against Amazon settled favorably after less than a year of litigation. Jaime continues to represent VideoLabs against Fortune 500 companies Netflix, Meta, and Apple.
